This piece, I explored the rift tearing through Metropolis, focusing on the fractured, cavernous spaces revealed beneath the city’s surface. I wanted to capture the raw violence of destruction of streets, buildings, and infrastructure sliced apart, with buses, cars, and broken pipes caught mid-collapse, embedded within the chaos. Water gushes from ruptured pipelines, and rubble continues to fall from jagged surfaces, giving the sense that the city itself is still actively unraveling. The rift merges jagged rock with crystalline, bismuth-like formations, introducing an alien, otherworldly energy reshaping the materials rather than simply destroying them. Superman and Ultraman appear only as small, secondary element, offering scale and narrative context, while the heart of the scene remains as the unstable, transformed environment and the lingering tension of a reality caught mid-collapse.
