The Fantastic Four: The Final Push

For this image I was tasked with creating the moment and environment in which the Fantastic Four lure Galactus to the final teleportation bridge built by Reed Richards. Sue Storm summons a massive force field to drive him toward the portal. As Johnny Storm prepares to sacrifice himself for the final push, the Silver Surfer, Shalla-Bal, returns and propels both herself and Galactus through the portal to a distant region of the universe. Once I completed the primary image and it was approved, I explored additional options for how the portal could expand and appear, drawing inspiration from the 1965–1966 Fantastic Four comics, where Kirby Krackle was introduced as a visual language for cosmic energy.
